Poses by angle

High Angle Pose Reference (Top-Down View)

98 poses

Every pose seen from above, looking down on the figure. High angles make the head and shoulders larger and the legs shorter, a common camera choice for vulnerable, cute or overhead scenes.

Drawing tips

  • The top of the head and shoulders show; the chin and underside of the body disappear.
  • Everything shrinks toward the feet, so make the body taper down from the shoulders.
  • Ellipses at the waist and wrists curve downward when seen from above.

Practice these poses on a timer, 30 seconds to 10 minutes each.
