Poses by angle

Three-Quarter View Pose Reference

98 poses

Every pose seen from a three-quarter angle, halfway between front and side. The three-quarter view is the most common angle in illustration because it shows both the width and the depth of the body.

Drawing tips

  • The far side of the face and body narrows; the near side stays full width.
  • The center line of the torso moves toward the far edge and curves around the ribcage.
  • Overlap the far arm and leg behind the body to make the depth read.

Practice these poses on a timer, 30 seconds to 10 minutes each.
