Drawing tips

  • Thin cotton and chiffon fall straight down with few, fine folds; keep the lines light and long.
  • Lace reads better as a row of small open shapes along an edge than as detail drawn all over.
  • Strappy sandals wrap the foot: follow the curve of the instep so the straps don't look flat.
