Kneeling

10 poses

Kneeling poses on both knees or one knee: hands on thighs, leaning back, arms raised, reaching to the floor. Drawn from five angles for studying the folded leg and the upright torso above it.

Includes: kneel · knees

Drawing tips

  • On both knees the thigh is roughly vertical and the shin lies flat, a right angle at the knee.
  • On one knee the raised knee forms a triangle with the hip and foot that keeps the figure stable.
  • When the figure leans back, the thighs tilt back too; only the knees stay planted.
